八仙水上樂園 Formosa Fun Coast

八仙水上樂園，又名八仙海岸樂園，是一座曾經位處新北市八里區的大型水上樂園。1986年，士林紙業與萬海海運的負責人陳朝傳與八里前代表會主席楊秀雄共同創辦了八仙樂園，並於1989年正式開幕，目前已停止營運。
2015年6月27日，於八仙樂園裡抽乾水的游泳池內舉辦的彩粉派對發生僅長40秒的火災，即時燒燙傷499人，其中燒燙傷面積80%以上計41人，面積40 ~ 80%計240人。醫療費由全民健保承擔引起輿論爭議。一年花費共7.65億新台幣，平均每人153萬。由此衍生漫長的刑責、民事賠償、國家賠償訴訟，並被新北市政府勒令無限期停止營業。
Formosa Fun Coast, is a water theme park that was once located in Bali District, New Taipei City, opened on July 8, 1989. On June 27, 2015, a 40-second fire broke out at a color powder party held in a drained pool of the theme park, instantly burning 499 people, including 41 people with burns over 80% and 240 people with burns between 40 and 80%. As a result, there were lengthy lawsuits for criminal liability, civil compensation and national compensation. The theme park was banned indefinitely by the government. Currently, the theme park is in a state of suspension, with several remaining amusement facilities waiting to be dismantled and a lengthy legal battle with the victims, so the place will not be making large-scale changes to the internal facilities in the near future.
「廢墟影像見證了許多難解的關係 — 例如死亡與存活、失去與生命、毀壞與保存、哀悼與記憶。廢墟影像也告訴我們（如果它還能告訴我們些什麼），無論在廢墟影像中死去了什麼、失去了什麼、哀悼著什麼，即使它們仍掙扎著存活與存在，其實都是關於影像自身。這也是為何廢墟影像如此常訴說著與無，其實就是影像的不可能性。它宣告廢墟影像沒有能力說故事，例如訴說廢墟本身的故事。」
簡言之，廢墟攝影所企圖訴說的，正是「廢墟不再能訴說任何故事」這件事。
在每一個身處廢墟的時刻，重要的不是想看見什麼，而是還有什麼事依然可看見的；而透過這些依然可見的（物與場景），看見「看不見」是可能的嗎？對於看見者而言具有什麼意義？這又牽涉到拍攝者作為行動與觀看主體的思考效果，畢竟，面對廢墟，真正的問題是：什麼才是「看見」的意義呢？我的重點是，思考這個依然可「看見」的對象（廢墟）來自何處，以及廢墟將引領我們前往何處、對當代的我們有什麼重要性，我認為是廢墟攝影最核心的美學意涵，或者是最重要的任務之一。

Formosa Fun Coast: Decade - Chen Kuan Lin Solo Exhibition
很小的時候，我曾以為情緒與記憶會隨時間逐漸淡去。直到開始接觸攝影，並將「廢墟」作為拍攝對象後，才意識到有些記憶從未被真正遺忘，有些創傷也沒有所謂的解脫，但我們或許能選擇與它們共處、與它們和解。這是一檔關於記憶、創傷與責任的展覽。八仙樂園塵燃事件距今十年，我希望藉由影像與文字，在這個習慣遺忘的社會裡，它們能成為某種證據，也是一種溫柔的提醒。
When I was young, I used to believe that emotions and memories would fade with time. It wasn't until I began to learn photography, and turned my lens toward ruins, that I realized : some memories are never truly forgotten, and some wounds are never fully healed. But perhaps, we can choose to live with them, to make peace with them. This exhibition is about memory, trauma, and responsibility. Ten years have passed since the dust explosion at Formosa Fun Coast. Through images and text, I hope this work may serve, in a society so practiced in forgetting, as both a quiet record and a gentle reminder.
