Hsinchu Sixth Fuel Factory, was established in May 1944, and was the first military industrial base in Hsinchu to have a systematic and large-scale construction. It was an important naval fuel plant set up by Japan in Taiwan during World War II, and was one of the most advanced high-tech military industrial facilities in Asia at that time. The main mission of the plant is to produce isooctane to improve the fuel performance of warplanes, and the area of the plant is 290 hectares.

    The landmark of the space is the main power plant, commonly known as "The Chimney". With a height of 60 meters (about 20 stories), it is the tallest structure on the Hsinchu Plain for about half a century. After the end of World War II, the Hsinchu Branch Factory was built by the Air Force Engineering Group as a family house in 1954 and was called "Zhongzhenxin Village". The people who lived in the village were mostly the first-generation soldiers of the Nationalist government, who had the expectation that they would one day return to their hometown in China, but stayed there for more than half a century.

    JianGong Primary School, which is located hundred meters away from the factory, to the children, "The Chimney", which is close to their homes and schools, is clearly a forgotten and meaningless monument to World War II. In the form of a workshop, each child was given a film camera and asked to take pictures that reminded them of the factory, like a game of hide and seek, to piece together "The Chimney" that doesn't exist.
