在藝術竹圍站的這半年，大多的時間都在自己的工作空間裡，反而沒有實際去認識各個角落。製作這件作品的期間，身為創作者的我無法在現場親自見證作品的執行過程，當透過空拍、穿越機等「上帝視角」的機具俯瞰工作室的面貌時，似乎回應了自己現階段「置身事外」的狀態。
身在德國的自己，透過斯圖加特天文台的望遠鏡，試圖望向遠在數千公里外的台北。以雙螢幕的擺設產生的「錯位」，看似填補了當下的不在場關係，然而彼此的實質距離卻依然是遙不可及。影像如同一把雙面刃，在無需抵達現場的情況下，它滿足了我們對於「遠方」的一種想像。然而也因為當下的缺席而導致了身體感的缺乏，氣味、溫度、踏在地面上的觸感，都僅只停留在想像。
In the past six months at Zhuwei Artist Village, I have spent most of my time in my own workspace. But during the production of this work, I, as the author, could not be present to participate, when I looked down on the place through the drone, a “God’s perspective” equipment, it seemed to respond my current status as an “outsider”.
Being in Germany, I tried to see Taipei, thousands of kilometers away, through the telescope of the Stuttgart Observatory. The “dislocation” created by the dual-screen setup seems to compensate for the absence of the present, but the actual distance between them is still unreachable. Images are so paradoxical, without the need to arrive at the scene, they complete our imagination of “far away”. However, the absence at the moment also leads to a lack of physicality; the smell, the temperature, the touch of the ground, all remain only in the imagination.

「離地計畫」談的是在原竹圍工作室二樓以上的創作可能性，做的是後現代所重視的互動性，整個計畫將會是結合建築、藝術與環境的一場實驗性的展覽活動，藉此計畫重新探索舊有空間向上延伸的、既現實也充滿想像的跳躍式空間邏輯。原竹圍工作室周遭環境蚊蚋滋生、令人困擾，本計畫卻也因此因應而生。
首先，面對竹圍舊有的鐵皮廠房空間，我們將概念地解構原有建築慣用的使用方式（不使用一樓室內展場），而是將展場搬到二樓、屋頂之上以及概念上的向上延伸，進而營造出不存在而被創造出來的另類空間。而這另類空間就宛如是貓、鴿子抑或是野鳥的棲息之所在。當跳出原有使用空間的慣性之後，藝術家可以有更多的想像來介入二樓之上的空間，開展更有趣的想像視野，二樓之上更可以讓參觀者體會爬梯、登高、探索、穿梭在建築物之間而不受蚊蟲干擾，風吹在二樓之上而自在感受竹圍場域的藝術氛圍、倚臨觀音山的夕陽時分以及捷運呼嘯而過的對話可能。
The "Off-Ground Project" explores the creative possibilities above the second floor of the Formerly Bamboo Curtain Studio, emphasizing the interactivity prized by postmodernism. This project represents an experimental exhibition that merges architecture, art, and environment. Through this project, we aim to explore new dimensions of existing spaces by extending upwards, creating modern and imaginative aerial spaces. Despite the challenging environment around the Formerly Bamboo Curtain Studio, plagued by mosquitoes, this project arises as a response.
Firstly, Rather than utilizing the conventional ground-floor exhibition space, we deconstruct the habitual use of the building and relocate the exhibition to the second floor and rooftop, symbolically extending upwards. This alternative space resembles a habitat for cats, pigeons, or wild birds. Breaking free from the inertia of conventional use of space allows artists to inject more imagination into the spaces above the second floor, fostering a more engaging imaginative perspective. Moreover, exploring the second floor allows visitors to experience climbing, exploring, and traversing between buildings without the disturbance of mosquitoes. They can enjoy the artistic ambiance of the Bamboo Studio, witness the sunset over Guanyin Mountain, and engage in conversations as the metro rushes by.
